Installation of New Superior and his Councillors
On 8 December 2014, the new administration took over the reins of Oblate Delegation of Pakistan. Fr. Aloysius Roy OMI's second term as Superior of the Delegation of Pakistan ended on 8 December 2014. Fr. Vernon Derrick OMI was installed as the new Superior of the Delegation of Pakistan while Fr. Maqsood Nazir OMI, Fr. Mukhtar Alam OMI and Fr. Khan Paulus were installed as councillors. The ceremony was held at the chapel of Mazenod House, Lahore.
In his farewell address Fr. Aloysius Roy OMI wished the new superior God's blessings and the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. He further said that he led the delegation with sincerity of heart. While Fr. Vernon Derrick OMI in his inaugural address underlined the he and his councillors are not superiors to anyone but they are brothers to every member. He urged the membership of the delegation to cooperate with his administration so that things move smoothly. Two New Oblate Priests
The Pakistan Delegation is blessed with another two local oblate priests. Fr. Kashif GHAURY was ordained priest on November 8, 2014 at the Most Holy Redeemer Cathedral, Multan by His Excellency Victor Gnanapragasam OMI, the Vicar Apostolic of Quetta Vicariate. Fr. Kashif GHAURY OMI is appointed as the Assistant at St. Pius' X Parish, Quetta.
Fr. Waqas RAZA OMI was ordained priest on November 22, 2014 at St. Pius' X Church, Quetta by His Excellency Victor Gnanapragasam OMI, the Vicar Apostolic of Quetta Vicariate. Fr. Waqas RAZA OMI is appointed as a Staff Member/Assistant at the Oblate Juniorate, Multan. Fr. Rohan Silva OMI, the Provincial of Colombo Province visits us
On 11th October 2014 Fr. Rohan Silva OMI, the provincial of Colombo Province visited Oblate Juniorate with Fr. Aloysius Roy OMI, the delegation Superior from 11th – 13th October. There was a short variety programme in Fr. Provincial’s honour and festive dinner. We thank him for his kind and encouraging visit to the Juniorate.
Recollection Day and Variety Program
The Recollection day began with the night prayer on 28th September at the Oblate Juniorate. On 29th Deacon Kashif Ghoury OMI gave a talk on 'Community Life' to the Juniorists. Later at midday the Holy Mass was celebrated by Rector Fr. Gulshan Barkat and with Mass the Day of Recollection was concluded.
On 30th evening we had monthly variety programme. The community celebrated Johnson's birthday, a Juniorist. Different items of amusement were presented. Waqas Butta, a Juniorist received a gift of a dictionary in recognition of his excellent performance in Academic year 2013-2014. Nativity Of Mother Mary
On 8th September 2014 we celebrated the nativity of Mother Mary at the Juniorate. At 05:30 pm we recited the Rosary at the Grotto followed by Holy Mass. After the Holy Mass we cut the cake to mark the birthday of Mother Mary.
Holy Mother intercede for us! Academic Year 2014-2015
By the Grace of God we have started our academic year 2014-2015. On 30th August with the thanks giving mass we prayed to God that He may give us wisdom so that we present ourselves to God. The Oblate Juniorate delightfully welcomed Very Rev. Fr. Benny Travas, the Apostolic Administrator of Multan Diocese. He celebrated the inaugural mass of Oblate Juniorate for the year 2014-2015. After the Mass there was a short entertainment program followed by festive dinner. PALM SUNDAY
The Oblate Juniorate community celebrated the Palm Sunday service on 13th April 2014 with St. Joseph's Seminary and along with the faithful of Louis Colony. Day of Recollection and Confession
